Wonder Why Wednesday Rhyme

Today I wondered just how many words rhyme with rhyme.

But I thought if looked it up it would take too much time.

Luckily a book made it simple and in no time I was done.

The Complete Rhyming Dictionary gave me the answer of 61.

Who knew there were 61 words that are true rhymes with rhyme.

There are many words to choose from, like climb, slime, or grime.

I found the answer so fast, this Wonder Why Wednesday is done.

It was over so quickly I didn’t even have a chance to throw in a pun.

Since this post was finished so soon, I won’t get paid for overtime.

But I guess I never get paid at all, I never see a dime.

Imagine if I got paid per rhyme, this week I’d make a ton.

Unless you think that rhymes are lame and this week is overdone.

I really should stop now since I know about many words rhyme with rhyme.

In case you forgot, the answer is 61.

(Wait a minute that last set didn’t even rhyme! Just wanted to make sure you were paying attention)

Act. Dream. Plan. Believe

A while back, my mom sent me this picture. She saw this quote at World Market and thought it would make a good post for my blog.

To accomplish great things we must not only act but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.”

Well mom, I agree. I think this is an awesome saying.

I’ve noticed that many of my posts have to do with putting in the work, creating ideas & planning ahead.

These are all examples of how we must act.

Seeing the above quote made me realize that I haven’t spent enough time talking about the importance of dreaming.

I think I write a lot about planning and acting because too often we can get caught simply dreaming about that perfect life, and never doing anything about it. We will never achieve our goals simply by dreaming.

Can the reverse happen too?

Can we spend all our time planning and acting and never accomplishing anything because we are unable (or afraid) to dream?

Definitely.

A friend once told me that, “you gotta have a dream to live the dream.”

I think what she meant was that you can’t really act and plan for that awesome goal unless you are able to dream up that goal first.

If you don’t have a dream outcome, then how will you know when your plans and actions pay off?

You won’t. And just as important, you won’t get anywhere unless you believe.

So that is why I think this quote my mom sent me is so great. It shows that we need an equal mix of acting, dreaming, planning and believing.

Try Stuff

Check out this great picture that my mom sent me from inside a Columbia Sportswear store.

It is not everyday that you get some motivation while shopping for fleece, but in this case I think Columbia nailed it.

In order for any type of progress, in any aspect of our life, we have to be willing to try.

A Reason To Smile

The other day I was riding my bike and I came across the following message painted on the ground.

smile 2

This is a simple, but great message.  I don’t know about you, but I always feel better when I smile. Imagine how great the world would be if we all smiled more.

This makes me think of the quote from the movie Elf where Will Ferrell says that “smiling is his favorite.”

I hope that everyone who reads this is having an awesome day. But if you are not, maybe you can use this photo as a way to think about something that makes you smile.

All of you who read and follow my blog are my reason to smile today.  Thank you for being great and for putting up with my ramblings.

What is your reason to smile?
